Believe it or not — a headache may actually be a good thing.

A new report finds women with a history of migraines are thirty percent less likely to develop breast cancer.

Doctors at the Fred Hutchinson cancer research center in Seattle say that decreased likelihood is for the most common types of breast cancers those fueled by estrogen.

Low estrogen levels often trigger migraines– which affect women two-to-three times more often then men.

Women with high estrogen levels tend to have higher rates of breast cancer.

So when it comes to breast cancer…. the lower the level of estrogen the better …but according to this report in the journal “cancer epidemiology, biomarkers and prevention” , that may come at the cost of some migraines.

The study examined more than 3400 post-menopausal women.
