Mercedes Teacher Tests Negative for Swine Flu

Great news for parents, students teachers and school staff at Travis Elementary in Mercedes, A Travis Elementary School teacher was recently hospitalized and tested for swine flu, today school officials got the results back from the Hidalgo County Health Department. They are negative.
A letter went out to parents this afternoon and the notice was posted on their school website allowing parents to breath a sigh of relief but reminding them that classes remain open. Even though the results were negative, officials say they will continue to make sure teachers and school staff continue to clean and disinfect the campus and also educate the students about proper hygiene.
Meanwhile, the female teacher, whose name was not released, remains hospitalized in Harlingen.
