McAllen I.S.D. Getting Ready for Elections

Today the citizen league of McAllen hosted their first debate between candidates that are looking to fill the seats of the school board.
The debate took place today at the Salvation Army in McAllen. Dozens of people attended eager to hear the candidates’ platform and vision for the future of the McAllen school district. Candidates are vying for the posts 3, 6 and 7 of the McAllen school boards.
Emilio Santos, debate coordinator.- “it is very important for the people to know the position of the candidates because in their hands will be all the money that we’ll receive here, the education of our kids .. And is very important to folop who is running for, and who is behind each one”
Among the many themes that were addressed today were the hiring of the new superintendent and the budget for the new school year. The election will be held in May.
