Man threatens wife with ax

Yesterday at around 6:30 in the afternoon, an eleven-year-old boy asked his neighbor to call the police when he saw his father took out an ax.
As soon as authorities arrived, the suspect, 34 year-old Mauricio Dominguez, fled the scene and lead authorities on a foot pursuit into a nearby orchard. Police say, the victim told them Dominguez had attacked her with the axe and caused damages to the home with the weapon.
ALTON POLICE SPOKESPERSO: “The individual comes back out and confronts the officer and he warns the officer that he has a hand gun, he is indicating towards the officer that he is pulling for his weapon … And during the confrontation the individual launches at the officer and starts tossing items towards the officer … And the officer had to use his duty weapon”
An intoxicated Dominguez was shot twice, and went before a judge today for attempted capital murder, 2 counts of aggravated assault and evading arrest. Judge Carlos Ortegon denied bond for Dominguez
