Man Shot at Party

A young man from Brownsville that just wanted to get some rest last night is now lying on a hospital bed rather than his own. It was around 2:30 in the morning when 24-year-old Alejandro Mendoza arrived home at the borders apartments in Brownsville when he noticed his sister Amy had a couple of friends over for drinks.
Mendoza expressed that he was really tired and asked her friends to leave, but one of them, 19 year old Bruno Leal would not take no for an answer.
“Mendoza and the guy stepped outside to argue, and that is when Leal pulled out a gun and shot him” Said Jimmy Manrrique, spokesperson for Brownsville P.D.
Leal did not stop to help and fled the scene. When the ambulance arrived Mendoza was still conscious and was able to provide a description of the shooter.
“When he shot Mendoza the bullet ruptured one of his lungs. We hope that he can survive his wound” Added Manrrique.
This morning police went out to search for Leal, and were successful in arresting him at home.
“He will be charged with 1st degree aggravated assault with a deadly weapon” Concluded the Brownsville police spokesperson.
Apartment number 3701 is now calm, but evidence from last night’s bloody mess still lingers on the front porch. Brownsville police spokesperson Sergeant Manrrique tells us the victim is still in serious condition at the hospital. Leal will be arraigned tomorrow morning.
