Justice waits no more, the man convicted of stabbing his wife 58 times has been sentenced
After several hours of deliberation, the jury decided that Garcia qualified for a special exception in state law that permits a jury to distinguish between first and second’degree murder for crimes that are committed in the heat of passion.
Thirty-two old Daniel Garcia, will spend 15 years in prison but may be eligible for parole in less than eight years.
In 2006, Garcia stabbed 25-year old Yrazema Placencia 58 times in the neck and torso after she apparently told him she was leaving him for another man and taking their children with her.
Garcia has been transferred to the hidalgo county jail.
