A man dies in a car accident early this morning in McAllen, an accident familiar to that of a 2005 car incident that took the life of a young girl.

24-year-old Jose Luis Perches Jr. Died after his truck crushed the concrete barrier at the expressway off ramp that meets the bicentennial overpass in McAllen. The cause of the accident is still under investigation by the McAllen police. Police were called around four am this morning and when they arrived on scene they saw his truck had flipped over and landed on the median below the underpass.

The off ramp and expressway to the overpass was closed through Thursday morning while crews looked for more clues as to what could have caused perches to have crashed. Authorities say there are no marks on the road indicating he tried to stop before crashing into the wall. Morales said an autopsy report was ordered to determine the cause of death and to see if he was intoxicated while driving.

A similar accident in 2005 killed 17 year old Amanda Longoria, the ramp has been closed several times due to accidents such as these
