Man commits suicide after shooting his wife

Another case of domestic violence left one person dead over the weekend. Now authorities are helping the surviving victims cope with the tragic situation.
It was this Saturday morning when a man identified as 52-year-old Rolando Gonzalez shot his wife twice. Witnesses at the scene indicated that the victim, 45-year-old briseida gonzalez no longer lived with her husband, however that morning she went back to what was her residence on 1210 of Dolores Del Rio street in mission to pick up personal items. It was then that Rolando Gonzalez tried killing her. Moments later he committed suicide in the presence of his 15-year-old daughter. Mission police officers are now concerned for the well being of the surviving victims.
Its been reported that briseida Gonzalez is now in stable conditions. Just last week alone there were 4 incidents of domestic violence reported in Hidalgo County.
Authorities want zero tolerance, and for that they are urging valley residents to report any type of domestic violence in order to avoid more fatalities.
