Man charged with aggravated assault, burglary, and kidnapping in Harlingen

A man is formally charged of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, burglary, and kidnapping in Harlingen.
According to police, Charles Ruth “the third” broke into a home located at the 1400 block of Vermont Street.
He used a kitchen knife to attack a male resident and then fled the scene.
The assault was witnessed by an adult female.
The victim was transported to Valley Baptist Medical Center, where the suspect later intercepted the witness at the parking lot.
He forced the woman into an SUV and held her against her will in La Feria home where she was able to call 911 and be rescued.
Mr. Ruth faces a total bond of 100 thousand dollars.
