La Joya drug bust 200 pounds of marijuana

A routine traffic stop nets La Joya police over 200 pounds of marijuana. Investigators say they found a couple pounds of pot in the backseat of Jason Hinojosa’s car, hidden under a stuffed toy. They then got a search warrant and found a couple hundred more pounds of the weed in a vehicle at the suspect’s Roma area home.

The 26 year old remains in custody and is being questioned by Hidalgo and Starr County drug agents. Police say he was arrested this morning as he was attempting to deliver drugs to a relative.
