Jury Selected for McAllen Native Laura Garza Murder Trial

A jury has been selected in the murder case of McAllen native Laura Garza. 26-year-old Michael Mele allegedly killed 25-year-old Laura Garza after they met in a New York City nightclub back in December 2008. Her remains were found 120 miles away in Scranton, Pennsylvania two years later. Garza was an aspiring dancer who moved to Brooklyn, New York from McAllen five months before disappearing. Mele is a convicted sex offender for lewd behavior in front of females. A testimony is scheduled to begin Monday for this murder trial.
