Joint pain can vary from just being a bother to becoming debilitating. And as many as 85 percent of adults especially those 45 and older will feel joint pain at some point
“Genetics. We have been born with certain genes that predispose you to certain diseases, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, other connective tissue diseases Osteo-arthritis also is a disease that is inherited” said Elvin R. Garcia, M.D.
Weight and a poor diet also predispose joint pain. However there are differences in the symptoms. In order to determine what the pain is specifically you should check for the following.
“Arthritis is inflammation of the joint and when we say inflammation of the joint we have to look at four copious symptoms. Redness, swelling, loss of motion and beside the pain is warm. It is also going to be really warm” said Elvin r. Garcia, M.D.
If left untreated or undiagnosed joint pain can lead to damage, loss of function and deformity. Visit with a doctor for proper diagnosis. Treatment with medication can control the condition.
Dr. Garcia suggests maintaining a healthy weight with a low fat, high calcium diet and regular exercise to keep strong bones and muscle.
