Immigrants Hurled from Pick-Up

Yesterday evening, La Joya police responded to a suspicious vehicle in there area that had apparently pick-up a group of illegal immigrants. The blue GMC pick-up truck they were traveling aboard had been reported from El Centro Mall Monday afternoon.
Officers attempted to pull the truck over as it fled East on Expressway 83 and then North on Tom Gill Rd. The car chase came to an unexpected end when the pick-up blew out both front and rear left tires as it turned right on 5 mile line.
“About 16 people jumped out of the vehicle, police where in pursuit and with the help of border patrol, sheriff department, and Penitas, the La Joya police was able to capture 12 people,” says, La Joya P.D. Spokesperson, Joe Cantu.
Four people are still at large. As for the illegals in custody, they are from Mexico, Guatemala Honduras and El Salvador. They are at the McAllen border patrol station awaiting deportation to their native countries.
