In an effort to continue help out Texas veterans governor Rick Perry and the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs announced a new home buyer initiative.

The state of Texas is giving $30 million dollars through the Texas mortgage credit program, making home-ownership more affordable for those who have fought for our country.

It will provide a dollar for dollar reduction of a borrowers tax liability, not to exceed $2,000 annually.

All this, hoping to help hundreds of qualifying low to moderate income households purchase their first home.

In order to qualify, veterans must have received an honorable discharge to be eligible to participate in this homebuyer program. For more information on the program you can visit the website.
