Hidalgo County Prepares for the Worst

Hidalgo County authorities are offering information to the general public as part of the preparation process to face the 2009 hurricane season. More than 50 organizations that deal with some aspect of emergency services in the Rio Grande Valley will be on hand to highlight the current plans and preparations that are already underway. We should not forget that the latest hurricane to hit the valley, Hurricane Dolly, left $230 million in damages in Hidalgo County. The free event will be held Saturday July 11th and everyone is invited. It will be held at the McAllen Convention Center and it is free of charge. Doors open at 10am and the event wraps up at 4pm. Be informed, be prepared and be ready.
