Hidalgo County Employee Arrested on Sexual Harrassment Charges

An Hidalgo County Health Department employee was arrested on charges related to sexual harassment. After a 12-week investigation into the allegations, Serjio Hinojosa was arrested Monday afternoon. According to the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office a young woman accused Hinojosa, an Elegibility Specialist at this county clinic located at the 300 block of East Hackberry in McAllen, of asking her to sit on his lap and kiss him in order to qualify for medical assistance. The Worst part is, five other patients accused him of the same thing. Hinojosa had been working at this particular clinic for the past year. The other five women who accused him of harassment, say they became his victims when he worked at the Texas Health and human Services Commission. He was immediately fired by the commission following the accusations. Serjio Hinojosa faced the judge this afternoon facing official oppression charges, a lass a misdemeanor. Hinojosa will remain behind bars tonight at the hidalgo county jail. The Chief Administrative Officer for the Hidalgo County Health Department did not want to comment on Hinojosa
