Hidalgo county district attorney Rene Guerra tells fox 2 news this would be his last term if reelected.

Criminal defense attorney Alma Garza gave Guerra one of the tightest re-election races of his career in 2006

Fidencio Guerra, a former state district judge with whom Guerra has publicly feuded is also seeking the voters’ trust.

But then incumbent defends his record against criticism that his office has become inefficient during his 28 years in office.

Garza says this community needs a district attorney dedicated to protecting the rights of victims and, above all, will uphold and follow the law.

Fidencio Guerra with 22 years of experience in the judicial system says it’s time for a change, that the DA’s office can’t be used to help friends.

Despite the allegations, Rene Guerra says he doesn’t insert politics in the judicial system, a proof of that he says, are all the cases against elected officials.
