Hidalgo Co. Jury awards million dollar damages

Earlier today an Hidalgo county jury reaches an 8.9 million verdict in a wrongful death suit.

The fatal accident happened close to a year ago and today, the drilling companies involved were found liable for unsafe work environment and defective products ..Here’s the report.

Those were the words of Criselda Rincon, relating to fox 2 news in may of 2009 of the last conversation she would ever have with her husband of 28 years…Sergio Rincon, before he lost his life in a tragic accident while on the job.

The Rincon family of Las Milpas decided to take action against the three companies involved: Nabors drilling who Sergio worked for ,Shell oil company, and Bishop Lifting products.

After three weeks in court and a day and a half of deliberations, the jury’s decided in favor of the Rincon family in the wrongful death suit.

Sergio Rincon is survived by his wife of 28 years, Criselda Rincon and their two children.
