Authorities continue to warn repeatedly bacteria may contaminate that floodwater because septic tanks were overwhelmed during the storms.
Even though authorities from the health department continue their efforts to clean the flooded areas and avoid any type of infection that could affect the community, they continue to encourage people not to walk in the flooded areas.
Authorities say that if you need to have contact with he flooded areas they highly recommend to wear shoes so they can avoid skin injuries
“There’s various things we are doing to help deal with this we just ask everybody to do their part. Please, and I know right now is very difficult, but clean your properties quickly as possible, any standing water…. Dump it”
Health department says the best way to control mosquitoes is to kill the larvae before they hatch.
To do so they have been throwing larvicide
