Usually people are able to eat or drink milk products without experiencing any issues. There are however many people who experience mild to severe discomfort and that’s usually a sign of lactose intolerance.

Lactose intolerance usually develops, as we get older and continues for life.

The symptoms usually begin anywhere from 30 minutes to two hours after consuming milk or milk products and they can be very uncomfortable.

Often times people who have never had problems develop lactose intolerance especially if it runs in the family. The best thing to do is modify your diet, avoid milk learn to recognize what may trigger symptoms and substitute with soymilk.

Medication is also an option. So if you think you might have lactose intolerance discuss your symptoms with a doctor just to make sure. The symptoms can often mimic those of other conditions.
