Feel free to fill up your plate after your fitness routine…

A new university of Michigan study reveals fueling up after your workout won’t negatively affect your results.
Researchers tested nine healthy, sedentary men between the ages of twenty-eight and thirty.
These men participated in four different sessions – one being the control trial, involving no exercise.
The other sessions included exercising at a moderate intensity level for ninety minutes, with the variation being their caloric and carbohydrate intake.
Researchers found eating low-calorie meals after exercise did not improve insulin sensitivity any more than when the subjects ate enough calories to match what was expended during exercise.
The finding suggests you can still get the important health benefits from working out without starving yourself.

This study appears in the online edition of “The Journal of Applied Physiology.”
