Former DPS Trooper Sentenced To 87 Months

A former DPS trooper has been sentenced to 87 months in federal prison after pleading guilty to a drug possession charge. Thirty-five-year-old Jesus Rafael Larrazolo of Brownsville apologized before hearing his sentence this morning, saying he used bad judgment and made a mistake. Larrazolo was arrested a year ago in the parking lot of a best buy store in Brownsville as he was loading 57 pounds of cocaine into his car. He pleaded guilty to the drug charge in January.
