Fire Rips Through Tire Shop

An early morning blaze scorched through a Harlingen tire shop Thursday. The fire happened around 3 a.m. at the G-C-R tire shop on and Sunshine Strip. Seven fire trucks and at least 27 firemen assisted in fighting the flames that ravaged more than 350 tires. Fortunately, the fire didn’t cause any structural damage and was placed under control within an hour of when it started.

Efforts were collaborative and do to this; officials are closer to finding the cause of the fire. Several fire investigators remained on scene through this afternoon recovering evidence that may lead them to figure out what started the fire.
