Residents of three Rio Grande valley counties hit by hurricane dolly were declared eligible for individual assistance from the federal emergency management agency today.
The white house approved FEMA’s recommendation, which came after FEMA officials spent nearly a week making preliminary damage assessments across Cameron, Willacy and Hidalgo counties.
The decision opens access for residents in those counties to things such as temporary housing assistance for those forced from their homes and much more.
Residents in Cameron, Hidalgo and Willacy will be able to register for the assistance immediately through the FEMA hotline at 800-621-fema
