Fatal Motorcycle Accident in Weslaco

An elderly man is dead following a motorcycle accident this morning in Weslaco. According to police, the incident happened around 7:30am on the eastbound lane near Expressway 83 and Westgate.

Officers responded to a motor vehicle accident involving a passenger car and a motorcyclist. At the same time, a second motorcyclist struck an SUV from behind in an attempt to avoid other vehicles. The motorcyclist, identified only as an 82-year-old Caucasian male, suffered major injuries to his head and was transported to Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco where he later died.

Police are still investigating the accident, however, they advise motorcyclists to be cautious on the road. According to authorities, the victim was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
