During this time of the year the Christmas spirit sparks people to decorate and lighten up their home, but there is always a Grinch, if given the opportunity, who will get the urge to steal.

Some of the most popular Christmas home decorations this year include the peanut gang like snoopy and woodstock. To lighten up the holidays many of us fill our lawns with all sorts of figures for the kids to enjoy.
But decorating in excess might catch the eye of a thief.

Not as many people are stealing them anymore. One of the things people need to do though is have the decor closer to the house in a well lit area.
Even though those large blow up Santas that light up are nice to keep up all night it may not be a good idea.

Some of those large blow ups its better if you let it deflate and in the morning or when you get back from work put it up
Better yet, having a neighborhood watch program in your community might do the job.

Get to know who your neighbors are. If you see someone prying around its easier to take the thieves or burglars
If your Christmas tree is going to be filled with gifts its best to not show it off from your front window.

If you show people that you have free gifts to offer you can end up being a victim of a crime.
A crime that will be difficult to undo.

The various police departments in the valley ask you to be on alert during the holidays and report any suspicious activity in your neighborhood.
