Hidalgo county elections administrator Yvonne Ramon explains the technical issues that delayed election day primary results.

County elections officials say it was not a software glitch. That instead, they missed clearing out the early voting numbers and the numbers of 13 precincts after they were entered into the computer system —- that resulted in double counting early voting numbers.

To ensure complete transparency, elections officials allow our cameras to view the steps that are taking place to validate the accuracy of the election day primary results…. Some candidates and candidate representatives, as well as party officials are also there to view the audit.

Despite the initial confusion, election workers recounted the votes, and posted the official totals by 11:22 last night now elections officials say voters should be confident in the final vote totals because their department is transparent and has integrity above all.
