Edcouch-Elsa enters 2nd Round of Job Cuts

The Edcouch-Elsa school district has entered phase two of the T.E.A. recommended job cuts. It was announced at last nights meeting that one assistant principal has been terminated along with three counselors, one social worker, a financial aid advisor and the director of transportation. Other items included further job reductions, budget readjustments, and the auctioning of school property. The district says the proposed adjustment could save them $5 m a year. Last December the district announced its intent to cut its labor force to remedy the $10m deficit.
