Drugs Found in Speaker Box

A routine traffic stop led to yet another drug bust for the La Joya police department. The incident happened at around 7:30 Friday morning. An officer pulled over a truck that was pulling a trailer because the trailer was not signaling the brake light. When the vehicle stopped police searched the vehicle finding a little more than 150 pounds of marihuana neatly stacked in a speaker box. A male and a female both 19 years of age from Rio Grande City were taken into custody. Charges are still pending.
