A man is busted trying to traffic drugs in a potato chip bag.
Customs and border protection officers at the Brownsville port of entry referred the driver of a Dodge Stratus to secondary inspection. Officers discovered an unusually heavy bag of potato chips inside the car. It had a tightly wrapped package of cocaine inside. Further inspections lead officials and k-9 agents to uncover more cocaine on the person and in the vehicle. In total, nine packages with a combined weight of 8lbs. were un-covered.
The cocaine has a street value of more than a quarter million dollars.
