It was a busy afternoon on the border for Palmview Police after one of their officers participated in a high-speed chase with the driver of this brown Chevy S.U.V. According to official sources, the driver of the suburban was driving against traffic near Minnesota Road and frontage when it caught the attention of a patrol unit. The driver of the suspect vehicle initiated a pursuit heading towards Butterfly Park but later ended in the river. The driver and the passenger of the unit absconded and left 40 bundles of narcotics behind. Immediately Mission Police, Hidalgo County Sheriffs Deputies, Border Patrol agents, a Texas Highway Patrol and a customs helicopter all assisted in the search for the alleged smugglers, however they managed to get away.
