It all starts when DPS trooper Manuel Aranda attempts to make a traffic stop on a white SUV traveling on a high rate of speed on military road, just east of Penitas.

The driver finally comes to a stop, gets off the vehicle and turns violent against the trooper.

The man punches the officer in the head at least six times, By that time, Roberto Perez and Jose Morin arrive on the scene, and just in time to assist trooper Aranda, before things get out of hand.

20 year old Juan Carlos Hernandez is finally placed under custody, and is now serving a 2-year sentence for assault on a peace officer, evading and resisting arrest.

Perez and Morin are recognized Friday morning for their life-saving actions. Their bravery and intervention allowed everyone to make it home to their family and place a violent individual behind bars.
