Even though the skies have cleared, many residents have plenty of yard work ahead of them after the storms.
City crews have also been working extra hours to remove giant tree limbs that landed on several homes, as well as those that are blocking roads. Usually they have 33 workers to do the job, but now they have increased that number to 200. They’re working as fast as they can, but here is one way you can help speed up the process.
“it’s very important that all the small items, small leaves, small brush be in plastic bags. If it’s not, especially since we’ve had all this rain a lot of it was washed away into the drainage gutters.”
The city of McAllen will resume their regular brush and debris pickup services on Monday, September 1st.’
