COYOTE CHARGED WITH AGGRAVATED KIDNAPPING

Today in the city of Pharr a 19-year-old coyote arrested yesterday is charged with 11 counts of aggravated kidnapping.
Yesterday morning this young man, Emilio Castañeda – Tirado was allegedly involved in detaining 11 undocumented immigrants against their will at gunpoint. Today he was arraigned for 11 counts of aggravated kidnapping before judge Ruddy Martinez. It happened at around 9:30 in the morning in a Pharr home, located on 401 east Juarez Street.
According to police reports one of the eleven undocumented immigrants saw his chance to take the handgun, and took it. At least three shots were fired and after a scuffle in which Castaneda was struck several times over the head. The undocumented immigrants fled and Castaneda was then caught a few blocks away.
This next-door neighbor says she recalls hearing what sounded like a fight followed by the sirens of squad cars.
In court, Emilio Castaneda – Tirado appeared lost. For each count of aggravated kidnapping, Castaneda was fined 100,000 dollars resulting in a total of 1.1million dollars. He has since been transported to the county jail.
All eleven undocumented immigrants have been handed over from Pharr Pd to the border patrol.
