Convicted Murderer Wants Out of Jail Time

A convicted murderer is asking a state judge to re-consider her 180-day jail sentence if not suspend it all together. Traci Rhode filed a motion with 107th state District Judge Benjamin Uresti Jr. last Friday. Rhode argues that she’s been an ideal inmate and has learned a hard lesson while being incarcerated. In 2001, Rhode was found guilty of the October 2003 murder of her husband Scott Rhode. Prosecutors claim the killed him to cash in on a $100,000 life insurance policy. However, she maintains Scott shot himself while she was bathing. No hearing date on the motion has been scheduled.
