The government announces a crib recall after the deaths of at least three babies.

The recalled cribs were made by a company called “Generation two worldwide.”

The consumer product safety commission says plastic hardware on models called “generation two worldwide” and “child designs” cribs can break.

This can cause the drop side of the cribs to detach and the mattress supports can break away from the crib frames.

The agency has received at least three reports of children who died after getting trapped in gaps between the drop sides of their cribs, and their mattresses.

Stores including K-Mart and Wal-Mart sold the cribs.
