Constable faces another DWI

A senior deputy constable remains behind bars tonight after police say he was driving while intoxicated and collided with a passenger car driven by an elderly couple.

Forty-five year old Javier Hinojosa was driving his pick up truck Saturday when he allegedly lost control, veered into oncoming lanes of traffic near the 300 block of business 83 in Alamo and crashed into a passenger car driven by an elderly couple.

Hinojosa’s 12 year old son was riding with him at the time of the accieen5… The boy and the elderly couple were transported to an area hospital while police arrested hinojosa and booked him after he refused to submit to a field sobriety test.

Javier Hinojosa is a senior deputy constable for Hidalgo county precinct two… He was booked into the Hidalgo county jail this morning and remains there tonight on bonds totaling 150 thousand dollars.

Hidalgo county precinct two constable Gilbert “Chato” Alaniz has asked sheriff Lupe Trevino to conduct an investigation into the matter.

At the completion of the public integrity unit’s investigation, Javier Hinojosa could be suspended with or without pay or terminated immediately.

If convicted, Hinojosa could loose his peace officer’s license in the state of Texas.
