CONGRESSMAN ORTIZ URGES FOR MORE ASSISTANCE

U.S. Congressman Solomon Ortiz, along with other members of the Texas Delegation, have sent a letter to the president in support of the states request for additional federal assistance for the South Texas region affected by hurricane dolly.
In the letter, the delegation requests the waiver of a provision that requires local government entities to provide preliminary damage assessments. With the waiver, federal agencies can immediately begin assistance without those assessments.
Congressman Solomon Ortiz added that the people and communities affected by hurricane dolly need aid that only the federal government can provide since there are still people without electricity, food, and adequate shelter.
