Congressman Cuellar Talks in City of Mission about Economy and Anzaldua’s Bridge

Congressman Henry Cuellar was in the City of Mission today to talk about legislative updates and more. The congressman focused on the future of the economy, small business development, trade and infrastructure in the Rio Grande Valley.

One of the most pending items has been reducing the deficit by cutting funding for certain items. Cuellars says that everyone is for this until they are part of the cuts.

One thing is for sure, bridge directors and Mission officials have the backing both financial and political for the expansion of the Anzaldua’s International Bridge. Mission Mayor Norberto Salinas says the money is there and that is a great start. There still needs to be a written proposal for the expansion, which will come to fruition soon.
