Ciudad Juarez arrest suspect in connection with 16 homicides

A suspect has been detained in connection with the weekend shootings in Ciudad Juarez that claimed the lives of 16 people, many of them teenagers.

Chihuahua governor Jose Reyes Baeza said the person was probably responsible for the mass shooting in the working-class neighborhood.

Juarez mayor ,Jose Reyes Ferriz said five calls to the a crime tip line disclosed very specific information about the brutal events.

Reyes Ferriz said the government is offering a reward of one million pesos, or about 76,000 US dollars, for information leading to the arrest of the responsible parties. The government is covering the funeral and health care expenses for the victims’ families. Four people remain in critical condition. Eight are hospitalized in a stable condition.
