City officials clean up as Ike leaves debris on South Padre Island

Employees from the Cameron county parks department have been inundated with beach clean-up projects during the last couple of weeks, and it’s all because the wrath of hurricane Ike is still affecting the gulf coast area.
The bad weather clean-up crews on south Padre Island continue doing their job as more debris left over from hurricane Ike continues washing in.
We are experiencing a lot of debris coming out of the beach. We have the maintenance department from the Cameron city parks cleaning the area picking up the debris.”
