Citizen Turns Hero in Apartment Fire

As an apartment complex burns to the ground a heroic citizen comes to the rescue. Joe Mauer tells Fox 2 News, he was just in the area when he saw the blaze begin to spread through the 2-story apartment complex on 418 11th street. He helped residents walk out of the burning building safely before it was turned into ashes. At least 12 apartments were burned and two people were taken to the hospital. No word yet on their condition. The blaze is being investigated by fire officials, but neighbors say they think a candle started it all.
