Local and state agencies as well as the hidalgo county sheriffs department united forces in an effort to clean up the Rio Grande River. When drug smugglers get busted with their cargo, many times they head down to the Rio Grande River in order to make their escape. However, they tend to let everything go down, literally! DPS dive recovery teams extracted one vehicle Monday and are said to continue working to remove all vehicles found along the 13 miles of river stopping at La Joya.
