Car Wash Shooting in Edinburg

Several suspects opened fire at a man at a local car wash. Tonight,
police say this could be an act of retaliation between local street
gangs. Edinburg police responded to a shooting at the Aztek Car Wash
near University Drive and 27th Avenue. Upon arrival to the crime scene
this morning, police say they located the victim, an adult male who
said he was inside his vehicle when several suspects approached his
SUV and opened fire. Edinburg Police Lt. Oscar Trevino, tells FOX 2
NEWS, the violent crimes unit has issued a bulletin alerting other
local agencies about the suspects involved in the shooting. The
victim, who’s name was not disclosed, is lucky to have survived the
incident. He is also being question by police. Officials confirmed one
of the weapons used in the shooting was a 45-caliber handgun.
Authorities urge anyone with information on the suspect’s vehicle or
the suspect’s whereabouts to contact Edinburg Police Crime Stoppers
Hotline at 383-TIPS. Tipsters could be eligible for a reward if the
information they provide leads to an arrest or a conviction.
