Initially a human skull was found by the owner of a rural property in Alamo.
Surprised by his harrowing find, the man notified Hidalgo county sheriff’s office.
Deputies were assisted by the border patrol as they started the preliminary investigations.
Hidalgo County sheriff’s deputies were able to find the rest of the body earlier today.
The body has yet to be identified.
Nevertheless, investigators are combing the area looking for clues that will help them determine the identity of the victim.
Police were able to tell Fox 2 News that the human remains appear to belong to a man.
Authorities are still gathering evidence.
