Brownsville Teen Mom Caught with Heroin

A Brownsville teen is caught trying to smuggle hundreds of thousands of dollars in heroin across the border. The 17-year-old Brownsville mother and her infant son were aboard a Matamoros taxi entering the U.S. at the Brownsville port of entry Monday. In a secondary inspection, officers noted discrepancies in a picture frame belonging to the passengers. Sure enough, two and a half pounds of heroin was found encapsulated in the frame. The thirteen packages of heroin totaled $200,000 in street value. The teen has been turned over to Brownsville police for processing on state drug charges.
