A five-year-old boy is recuperating after being run over by a car. The incident happened in the parking lot of 6166 Simon Place in Brownsville. According to police reports, 20-year-old Luis Alberto Alvarado cut through the parking lot in an effort to avoid traffic and wound up running over the child. He fled the scene but was found some time later thanks to an eyewitness description. He faces charges of evading a scene of an accident and failure to render aid.
