Broccoli could prevent cancer

But now, add potential cancer prevention capabilities to the list.
Doctors at the Roswell park cancer institute in buffalo, New York say broccoli and other cruciferous vegetables may lower lung cancer risk in smokers.
They studied a group of smokers and found those who ate *raw* cruciferous vegetables had a twenty to fifty-five percent reduction in risk.
The results varied how much and how long the patient smoked.
Researchers add people who quit smoking had even more benefits from eating the raw vegetables.
This data was presented at the American Association for Cancer Research’s seventh annual international conference on frontiers in cancer prevention research.
Doctors warn more research is needed but say their findings are strong enough to link cruciferous veggies to cancer prevention.
