The first few phases of the initial construction stage include the building of a cement border wall.
It will be a hydraulic structure with levees built into the base. The nearly 2 mile segment will be constructed in the anzalduas county park in Mission, TX.
There is also a mile long segment along the lower Rio Grande Valley wildlife refuge between valley view road and FM road 493 in Donna, TX. Access to the construction sites are blocked to the general public and are being progressively coming under tighter security.
It is expected that the federal project will be completed in December.
