A raid in Los Fresnos is helping authorities conduct an in depth investigation. Sources tell us that just a few days ago a border patrol agent’s house and unit were shot at multiple times. We are trying to figure out if that incident is related to today’s raid conducted at the 300 block of whipple road in Los Fresnos.
CHIEF OF POLICE: “we’ve had a vehicle shot with three rounds and during that investigation one of the subjects that was coming out of the residence stopped and was in possession of high powered weapons”
And they are not any ordinary weapons.
CHIEF OF POLICE: “One of them was an AK 47 with a 100 draw magazine and the other was an assault shot gun with a high capacity magazine”
The primary suspect in the shooting has been identified as 22-year-old Juan Carlos Barros. His motive is unknown. We asked chief Harris if this incident is related in any way to organized crime and he could not confirm. Today’s objective was merely to collect more evidence.
CHIEF OF POLICE: “We then requested and received from the courts a search warrant at the residence to see if we could find any more weapons at that location”
We also contacted the federal bureau of investigation to see what their part is on this case and they refused to comment. No one was injured during the raid and more arrests could be made in the near future. Of course we will keep you up to date on any further developments
